This flower from one of many Chinese lantern plants (Physalis alkekengi) in our garden manage to survive the wet winter without disintegrating entirely, remaining quietly beautiful in its weathered state.

Wisteria

Wisteria has a reputation for being something of a garden thug in that it invades and spreads relentlessly. This one merrily took over a dead plum tree and is always glorious when we return in late April.
